Are you new to amateur radios, or have been off the air for a while, then join us for a beginner's hands on workshop to understand and program your radio unit. Be sure bring your radio and that it is charged and your instruction manual. CERT Skills Day (for CERT members only) 9a.m. to noon. Watch for information for the next refresher class. There are some exciting changes coming for the Long Beach CERT this coming year. Be sure to stay posted to this sight or on face book.
Long Beach CERT Class
If you would like to sign up for Disaster Preparedness Classes with the Long Beach Fire Department, contact will.nash@longbeach.gov. These classes are for a seven weeks and then graduation. There is a three day Intensive Class starting on Friday night, May 17 and all day Saturday and Sunday, May 18th and 19th. If you are wanting to be in either class contact Will Nash as soon as possible to be sure there is room for you or click on the link above for form.
CERT Education (seminars / presentations) If you know of a church, Home Owners Assoc. or any other organization that would like some information on CERT or emergency prepardness but do not have the time to take a class, there are seminars that can be arranged through Sibyl Keirns seminars@longbeachcert.org. Watch for dates. The AARLB Ham Radio Club meets on the 1st Friday of the month at 7p.m. at the Signal Hill Community Center in Signal Hill.
